Minister of Homeland Security Peter Mukhito says police are making progress in investigating the shooting death of medical doctor Victoria Bobe, who was killed last week at her home in Chigumula Township in Limbe. The incident has heightened security concerns among Malawians and health workers.
Rising on matters of national importance, Dedza Kasina MP Joshua Malango asked the minister to update Parliament on the status of the investigation.
Mukhito said police are following leads provided by community members.
“We have a list as provided by the members of the community which we are following. Arrests are being made,” he told Parliament.
He assured lawmakers that investigations are ongoing and that a full report will be presented to the House once complete.
Dr. Bobe was a lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS). Her killing has sparked widespread concern and demands for stronger public security measures.
